About

What Is Acute Crisis Response?

Acute crisis response is a specialized, on-site intervention designed to help individuals and communities cope in the immediate aftermath of a traumatic event. Whether triggered by gun violence, suicide, natural disaster, or sudden loss, these events can overwhelm people emotionally and disrupt daily functioning. Our trained professionals provide stabilization, emotional processing, and guidance in the first hours and days—when support is most critical. The goal is to restore a sense of safety, reduce the risk of long-term trauma, and equip communities with next steps toward recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about counseling, our platform, and how to get the most out of your experience.

Professional coaching is a collaborative partnership that helps you maximize your personal and professional potential. Unlike consulting or therapy, coaching focuses on future possibilities rather than past issues. Coaches use powerful questioning, active listening, and structured frameworks to help you gain clarity, set meaningful goals, and take effective action.

Finding the right therapist starts with understanding what you’d like help with — whether that’s stress, relationships, career challenges, trauma, or personal growth. At Counselor.fit, you can browse therapist profiles by specialty, approach, and experience, so you can choose someone who aligns with your needs. If you’re not sure where to start, try our short matching quiz — it’s designed to guide you toward the best fit for your goals.

When choosing a therapist, look for proper licensure in your state — common credentials include LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Psychologist (PhD or PsyD). These show that the therapist has completed accredited training, meets professional standards, and can legally provide therapy. You may also want to check for additional certifications in specific methods or specialties that match your needs. At Counselor.fit, every therapist profile clearly lists their credentials to help you make an informed choice.

Therapy rates can vary widely depending on the therapist’s experience, location, and specialization. On average, individual sessions range from $75 to $250 per hour. Some therapists offer sliding-scale fees based on income. At Counselor.fit, you’ll see clear pricing on each therapist’s profile so you can choose someone who fits your budget.

The length of therapy depends on your goals, the issues you’re working through, and how often you meet with your therapist. Some people find a few sessions helpful for short-term support, while others benefit from ongoing therapy over several months or longer. Your therapist will work with you to set clear goals and check in regularly to make sure you’re on track and getting what you need.

To be listed on Counselor.fit, you must hold a valid, active license in good standing (such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or PsyD), carry professional liability insurance, complete your profile with a headshot, bio, specialties, session details, and pricing, and agree to use our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for scheduling and payments.

When a client signs up, they can browse therapist profiles by specialty, approach, and availability or take a quick matching quiz to get personalized recommendations. Based on their answers, we suggest therapists who fit their needs and preferences. Clients can then view your profile, read your bio, and book directly through your custom booking link.

There are no upfront or monthly fees to join or stay listed on Counselor.fit. We operate on a simple commission model — when you receive a booking through our platform, we take a 20% commission to cover ongoing marketing, platform support, and client acquisition efforts. You set your own session rates, and your net earnings are the full rate minus our 20% fee.

Complete all profile sections, regularly update your availability, showcase client testimonials, clearly articulate your methodology and results, and maintain prompt response times to inquiries.
